FAITH - LESSON 9
THE CHAMPION FORMULA
You may need your Bible, a pen & notebook to complete these lessons. You should be able to copy and paste these outlines to your word processor and print them without difficulty if you so desire. We recommend you record in your note book deep thoughts or questions that may arise as you study, and certainly record all things God reveals to your heart. Look over these notes frequently and use them even as you pray. God will cause you to grow in wisdom and understanding. Keep your note book with you throughout the day as much as possible to record all God reveals to you and to review the things you have learned. Look up all bible verses in this study. Highlight or mark them in your bible. It is Gods Word speaking directly to you.

We also recommend you make a habit of memorizing a scripture each week. This not only helps get the Word deep in your heart, but is also an excellent mental exercise.

                                                                                  The Champion Formula

In life we see many examples of great men and women we would want to emulate. Many inspire us to push ourselves toward doing great things. Then there are those who have the opposite effect. Those that do more harm than good. Many people, most in fact, are simply somewhere in the middle. The majority often go through life inspired, but unwilling to push past average due to the extra effort.

I believe that all people are born with a sense of greatness. All children want to accomplish their dreams. It is the hard knocks in life, the disappointments, that take the greatest toll on the human psyche, and some just find it so much easier to be average. It isn’t that people don’t work hard, most do. The problem is they settle for less then their dreams.

Last week we studied some who held on to the dreams God had placed in their heart and accomplished great things. All of us have this same opportunity. What is the dream God has placed deep inside you? Today we’ll look at steps to help you fulfill yours!

                                                                                    Steps That Lead To Fulfillment

Daniel 11:32b …but the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

1. It’s not religion but relationship
    - Notice the verse above says those that know their God!
    - What was Jesus warning to “believers” in Matthew 7:21-23?
    - Notice in verse 21 they all called Jesus Lord, but not all did God’s will.

2. Hear Gods Voice Yourself!
-There are no shortcuts to this. Time and effort spent on ones knees and in the Word
      are the only way.
-Jesus is our example and He heard Gods voice perfectly (John 12:49-50)
-Luke 6:47 those who hear and do build on the Rock
-Your relationship, anointing, power, grace, faith and righteousness are determined by
your relationship with God, NOT by church affiliation, following certain leaders,
religious duties, church attendance or giving. Personal time with God is the only way
to know His voice, and then…

3. Obedience - Do as God says
    - Luke 6:46 “Why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and don’t do the things which I say?”
    - His Word will speak to you, His Spirit will speak to you.
    - You will know and recognize truth and error

4. Perseverance
    - Don’t be discouraged by troubles, expect them. (Luke 6:47-48 trouble comes to both)
    - know that getting knocked down is part of life. A winner is crowned based on how
many times he gets back up and tries again! Life is not a nine inning game, nor
limited to three periods. It’s never over until you win!
    - both boxers take many punches but to win only have to land one more punch than
    the loser.

5. Love
    - John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
    - Love is the biggest key of all. Walking in forgiveness, not having a critical attitude
toward others, but being an encourager, is key. God is Love and we don’t please
      Him without it.

Conclusion: The world may think us peculiar. They may not understand why you choose to not flirt with woman randomly or tell dirty jokes or hang out at bars and pubs.
We are like a man rowing in a canoe, upstream, against the current. All those in the world, in their canoes are going downstream, with the current with ease, not breaking a sweat, and no aching muscles. That’s ok, for the longer we row the more the Lord empowers us to live this life right! Close relationships row with us, and we strengthen one another. Before long the grace and glory God supplies bring the kind of success into our lives that is most meaningful. Success in marriage, our family, our faith and our future are placed in Gods hands instead of our own, and that is worth all the effort!
