FAITH - LESSON 7
FOCUS ON THE PROMISES
You may need your Bible, a pen & notebook to complete these lessons. You should be able to copy and paste these outlines to your word processor and print them without difficulty if you so desire. We recommend you record in your note book deep thoughts or questions that may arise as you study, and certainly record all things God reveals to your heart. Look over these notes frequently and use them even as you pray. God will cause you to grow in wisdom and understanding. Keep your note book with you throughout the day as much as possible to record all God reveals to you and to review the things you have learned. Look up all bible verses in this study. Highlight or mark them in your bible. It is Gods Word speaking directly to you.

We also recommend you make a habit of memorizing a scripture each week. This not only helps get the Word deep in your heart, but is also an excellent mental exercise.

                                                            Focus On The Promises

There is a peace that comes no other way but through meditating on God’s promises. Circumstances can change, both good or bad in the natural, but God’s Word has promises to those who love Him that can change natural circumstances. This is comforting to know. As children of God we are not limited to this natural realm, but through faith can supersede it’s barriers.

This is what faith is all about. If faith was only capable of working within the parameters of nature, than it would be of little use. There would be no supernatural healing, no casting out of devils, and certainly no rising from the dead. God is not limited by the world He created, so faith in Him and His promises can bring us through every obstacle, every difficulty and all barriers. We serve an unlimited God!
Often times our problems can seem large, or even insurmountable, but they are not.

Meditating on God’s promises will bolster faith and open wide the doors of opportunity. We are told to walk by faith and not by sight. It’s time we viewed this life and this world through the eyes of faith. That’s when we’ll see that our biggest problems are no match for our God. Here are five key steps to staying positive in a negative world.

1. Be Prepared for Trouble ~see Matthew 7:24-27
    - Jesus warned us that’s life’s storms came to both houses; the one built on the sand
and the one built on the rock. Let’s build ours on The Rock!

2. Make Time For God, everyday ~see Joshua 1:8
    - Don’t try to fit God into your busy schedule; build your schedule around your time
    with God!

3. Equip yourself with fresh, new weapons ~see again Joshua 1:8 & 2Cor 10:4-5
    - You can’t live forever on one meal you ate last week, nor can your spirit man stay
strong on what you read or heard a couple of weeks ago. Continually feed your spirit 0
man truth through Gods word and His promises. If you are regularly depositing
God’s Word into your spirit, there’ll be plenty of faith there when you need to make a
    withdrawal!

4. Surround Yourself with Freedom Fighters ~see 2Sam 23:8-39 & Pro 17:17 & 18:1
    - You are an easier target and less effective in combat when fighting single-handed.
Surrounding yourself with others of like mind and spirit will enable you to
accomplish much more and together crush the works of the enemy.

5. Never Give Up ~see Ephesians 6:13-18
    - No matter how dark the battle looks we must continue to stand.

Conclusion: Why do we have to push ourselves forward in faith? Is it all really necessary? What’s to gain? Eternal life is the end goal, not just for ourselves, but for all mankind! We must do all we can to win as many souls for God’s kingdom as possible. To lose even one is to condemn them to an eternity in hell, and battling against this is worth all the fight we can muster, for ourselves, our loved ones and our neighbors!
